When this thought is held with focused attention and a deep, imaginative feeling of connection to universal consciousness, it opens the door to powerful insight. The soul begins to sense its unity with all life, gains clarity about its role in the greater cosmic design, and comes to understand essential truth that Deity talks to us through the Book of Nature.

Angels That Go Up and Down
Jacob's Ladder
William Blake, 1805
When exploring the spiritual meaning of the zodiac sign Cancer, C. C. Zain highlights the biblical story of “Jacob’s Ladder” from Genesis 28. He interprets Jacob’s dream of a ladder reaching from Earth to Heaven—with angels ascending and descending—as a symbolic representation of the Cycle of Necessity, the soul’s evolutionary journey through repeated incarnations.
This Cycle suggests that before birth, the soul exists in a spiritual, unconscious state. According to Hermetic teachings, each soul begins as a Spiritual Ego or Divine Spark in the Celestial Realm, composed of two halves—twin souls, one positive and one negative, or male and female. In this unified, cherubic state, the soul has potential but lacks conscious experience. It is the role of higher beings, or angels, to divide these twin souls and guide them on a journey into the dense, material world, where they can gain experience, develop self-awareness, and ultimately become conscious co-creators in the divine plan.
Jacob’s ladder, then, becomes a powerful metaphor for this process. Set upon the earth and reaching to the heavens, each rung represents a stage of spiritual growth. As angels moved up and down the ladder in Jacob’s vision, so too does the soul rise and fall—entering physical forms, passing into the astral realm upon death, assimilating experience, and then returning again to occupy a more evolved body. This progression—from mineral to plant, to animal, to human—is how the soul climbs its evolutionary path.
Physical birth, facilitated by human parents, provides the soul with a new opportunity to learn and grow in a more complex form. In this way, every life is a vital rung on the ladder, and each experience, a step toward conscious unity with the Divine.

Astrological Insights from Spiritual Astrology...Elon Musk
The 1st Decanate of Cancer (Cancer/Cancer) — Canis Minor, The Little Dog
“The Wages of Sin is Death.”

Keyword: MOODS.
The story of Old Dog Trey offers a cautionary message: even the good-hearted can suffer from the company they keep. Despite Trey’s loyalty and good nature, his choice of companions ultimately led to his downfall. Spiritually, this reminds us that our moods and associations matter. No matter how well-intentioned we are, we can be impacted by the actions and character of those around us—sometimes with irreversible consequences.
With his Sun in the MOODS decanate of the sign Cancer, a modern echo of this theme can be seen in Elon Musk’s controversial stint in the Trump administration, where he was placed at the helm of the Department of Government Efficiency. According to biographer Walter Isaacson, Musk is known for dramatic mood swings—intensity that has fueled innovation, but also instability. Armed with sweeping authority and access to sensitive Treasury systems, Musk’s bold, attention-grabbing approach to reform drew headlines—and backlash. The symbolism of a man brandishing a chainsaw to cut “waste” raised ethical concerns about the real-world impact on people’s lives. Investors took notice, and Tesla stock suffered. Whether seen as consequence or cosmic balance, the lesson stands: our choices and moods shape our outcomes—even at the highest levels of power.
As Stellarians, we are guided by the moral principle: Contribute Your Utmost to Universal Welfare. We strive not to judge, but to recognize each person’s unique role in the Divine Plan. Every experience—whether smooth or stormy—has something to teach us. Life’s setbacks aren’t punishments; they’re invitations to grow.
Our journey through the Cycle of Necessity is shaped by how we respond to the consequences of our actions. In every setback, there is something to learn. And through it all, our calling remains: to uplift one another, to act with care and awareness, and to grow in wisdom as we help build a better world—one choice at a time.

For use at times when we are in domestic turmoil, unduly changeable, or in group turmoil, under coercion and unduly negative.
Constructive Domestic Urges express as Adaptability in relation to public or domestic life. They are characterized by being persistent in endeavors to the point of ability.
“O Thou Eternal Spirit, in Whom I live, move, breathe, and have my Being! Grant that I may have only constructive, positive activity in my life. Let me be a protecting influence to all who may need me. Let my purpose and interest in life be for their welfare. I earnestly desire that my energies go constructively and actively beyond my daily round of duty to all who are in need and for whom I have the ability to assist.”

Why Astrology and the Tarot are so important to understanding Traditional Knowledge
The word Kabala signifies traditional knowledge. It thus refers to the Oral Law, as handed down from antiquity; and embraces the occult traditions of all lands and all peoples. Often it is used merely as referring to the esoteric doctrines of the Jews; but in its broader sense it includes also the secret doctrine of other races. This secret doctrine, common to many lands, was jealously guarded from the profane, and was never permitted to pass into writing except in such ambiguous terms as to baffle the uninitiated as to its true purport. In this sense the sacred books of the world, including the Avesta, the Vedas and the Bible are largely kabalistical; for they set forth traditions that are capable of an inner, or esoteric, interpretation. In fact, there are usually several interpretations possible, each more inner version revealing a deeper truth to those who have advanced along the path far enough to comprehend it.
And this seems the proper place to point out that the unwritten kabala, like the written kabala, is set forth in symbolical language, with purposeful blinds and subterfuges to confuse the uninitiated; so that of the few who undoubtedly exist at the present day who have received it, most remain in as much ignorance of its true interpretation as the majority of students do after studying the more accessible written kabala. This unwritten kabala has been transmitted only through certain secret schools. Those receiving it well merit what is given to them. They are left to their own devices in the matter of interpretation. And because the real keys to its interpretationóastrology and the tarotóhave been largely ignored, or distorted, they have floundered sadly in arriving at its meaning. Whether written or unwritten, the kabala is a philosophy correlated to esoteric astrology as exemplified by the tarot; and it can only be comprehended fully by those who perceive the true relation between astrological energies and their pictured tarot exemplification.
